Following on from the news of its shortlisting in the One-to-Watch category of the Social Enterprise Scotland Awards 2019; Passion4Social has announced that it is taking to the road this autumn in support of Scottish Social Enterprise Week in Glasgow.
In these times of uncertainty and division, social enterprise is increasingly becoming the business model of choice for tackling the UK’s most pressing social, economic and environmental challenges.
Scotland, for its part, has wholeheartedly embraced this more ethical sustainable way of doing business; with 5,600 operational social enterprises being recorded in the Social Enterprise survey 2017.
The annual Social Enterprise Week provides an unrivalled opportunity for business leaders, support organisations, policy-makers and students to come together to share resources and raise awareness of the sector in Scotland.
Running from the 2nd-8th September, this year’s event will see Glasgow host an extensive programme of free activities showcasing the positive impact social enterprises have on their local communities.
6 Free Events and a chance to win a Communication Plan
Passion4Social will be appearing at city venues across the week; as the team hosts its first-ever mini roadshow partnering with EY Foundation, NHS Credit Union, Queens Cross Housing Association and the University of Glasgow.
It comprises of the following series of interactive activities, workshops and debates, exploring the unique challenges of running a social enterprise. To celebrate Passion4Social’s first birthday, all attendees of the events will be entered into a prize draw for the chance to win a Communication Plan (worth £1,000). The only requirement is to show up! – you can use the communication plan for your own organisation or as a gift for a Charity or Social Enterprise.

Following the announcement, Bruce Gunn, Managing director of Passion4Social said:
“At Passion 4Social CIC we like to think that we are a diverse workforce as well as prime advocates for our social mission; sustainable employment opportunities for people with disabilities.
We work with different organisations using a social business model that is now tried and tested and we are happy to have an opportunity to pass on our experience to entrepreneurial people as well as fledgeling third sector organisations.
It is widely recognised, even at government level, that Social Enterprise is filling the gaps in vital service provision throughout the UK. However, if we want the sector to continue to thrive; it is paramount that we share knowledge, resources and experience!
We look forward to seeing you all this Social Enterprise Week. Please do come along to say hello.”
