What our overlay is (and isn’t)
It is:
- An optional layer, users can turn on or off
- Designed not to interfere with assistive technologies
- Built to support people who don’t normally use screen readers or specialist tools
- Customised for each website — tools that don’t work well with your design or UX are removed
It is not:
- A compliance solution
- An automated “fix”
- A replacement for testing or remediation
- A guarantee of WCAG compliance — overlays should only be used alongside accessible design and development
Accessibility must be built into the website itself.
