Passion4Social is a social enterprise on a mission to build a digital world that includes everyone, regardless of background or identity. We reinvest our profits to train and employ disabled professionals, creating real jobs and measurable social value.
Passion4Social began in 2018, born out of a duality of frustration and hope. Frustration that the digital revolution was clearly leaving so many marginalised people behind.
Balanced with our shared hope that by combining lived experience and ethics with emerging technology, we could change that.
We were founded by people who have lived and learned experience of marginalisation, with a passion for creating a business model that was focused on inclusion. We remain dedicated to modelling a different way of thinking about disability and inclusion.
From the start, we have challenged the industry norm, not just with our business model but with our services too. While many accessibility services rely solely on automated tools or a handful of specialists, we believed in something more radical: putting disabled people at the heart of the process.
Not as afterthoughts or focus group participants, but as paid professionals shaping, testing, and improving the digital products everyone uses.
By centring those with lived experience this way, we believe that we have created a unique approach which sets us apart from other accessibility testing services.
It takes longer, but the results have been magnificent. Visit our accessibility audits page for more information.
Our early days were modest — a small team, a handful of accessibility audits, and a lot of late nights. But the response from clients was immediate and powerful.
They weren’t just buying compliance; they were buying a bridge to their users, a story they could stand behind, and a tangible social impact they could measure. Over time, our impact grew:
- Almost 200 accessibility audits delivered to date.
- £400,000+ social impact generated.
- 12 jobs created for disabled people, with 80% of our workforce living with a disability.
Today, we think that we stand on the precipice of creating lasting and meaningful change. The legal, economic, and social forces are aligning. The demand is there. We have the skills and knowledge to service this. And our model is tested and proven.
Our three-strand model for change
Our accessibility work is not just a service. It’s a wider business model designed to deliver change on three interlocking fronts: Business, Employability, and Social Impact.
We help organisations unlock the full potential of their digital presence by making it financially compelling and accessible to become digitally accessible.
Our approach combines automation for speed with manual testing for depth, creating a product that is faster, more accurate, and more human than most competitors. This dual method allows us to deliver audits in as little as two weeks.
The business model is scalable. The more clients we serve, the more revenue we generate, and the more disabled professionals we can employ — creating a virtuous cycle of both growth and social impact.
At the heart of our work is a commitment to building new career pathways for disabled people.
Accessibility testing is an ideal profession for many:
- It can be done remotely, offering flexibility.
- It doesn’t require a traditional tech background; we can train new testers in as little as two weeks.
- It draws directly on lived experience, turning personal challenges into professional expertise.
The employability strand of our model is about more than jobs. It’s about transforming lives.
Employment can significantly improve both mental and physical health. A stable job brings financial security, a stronger sense of purpose, and meaningful social interaction.
It provides structure, reduces isolation, and opens opportunities for skill development and personal growth — all of which boost self-esteem and confidence.
For many of our testers, work is not just a livelihood; it’s a lifeline.
When we improve a website’s accessibility, the ripple effects are vast.
An accessible site is not just easier to use for a blind shopper or a deaf student — it is better for everyone.
Clearer navigation, more readable text, and well-structured content improve user experience universally.
Accessibility is usability.
The social outcomes are profound:
- Better health for society – because employment, particularly for disabled people who have faced systemic exclusion, enhances mental and physical well-being, fosters independence, and strengthens communities
- A greener web — optimised, accessible sites often use cleaner code, consuming less energy and reducing their carbon footprint.
- A more inclusive digital environment — breaking down online barriers mirrors and reinforces offline inclusion.
By removing digital obstacles, we are reducing inequality, boosting participation, and enabling millions more people to contribute fully to the economy and culture.
